What a Wonderful Day...

What an incredible day - I cannot even begin to tell you how impressed I am with my students and their work. I purposefully created a lot of pre-cursor assignments to this big project (assignments that would invite them to plan for their writing) and I had students walking out of the classroom saying things like, "Wow, that was easier than I thought it would be." I stopped the entire class at that moment and pointed out that it wasn't because the assignment was easy. It was because they were prepared for the work.

But today - I'm off. All grading is up to date. Plans for Monday have been made. The 26 Ipads are locked up and charging (well, 19 of them that is. If we blow a fuse in that room, it's not our fault, though I did hear that I would be getting a charging cart soon. I told my wonderful neighbor that I'm not opposed to sharing - one night it's mine to use, the next his).

But I'm off. I made a promise to a very wonderful supervisor who knows just what to say when I need something said. I'm taking the weekend off. I'm not even going to think about Monday until - well - Monday.

And a wonderful date night is in my near future... Waahoo!
